Class is one of the final frontiers of bridging divides across advocacy spaces.
So many of us have been taught to consider the confrontation of how class gives us privilege or takes it away as a taboo topic that should not be discussed…well…ever.
When you come from the poverty line and blue collar families, many will also encourage you to “fake it till you make it,” and to conceal your class level to build a career in the world.
When you are born into a middle-class family or a family of wealth, you are encouraged to hoard what you have and to look away from the community when your resources are lacking in ways you don’t anticipate and need help.
Money and access to social capital are a source of shame for many?
But what if we could change that?
What if we could do the work required to build a deeper understanding of how to unlearn the pitfalls of classism in a hypercapitalist society?
We could move mountains.
Class: How We Build Bridges Across Movements is a 90-minute webinar for people interested in understanding class, how it functions in our society, and why and how we unlearn classism to build deeper and more meaningful relationships across movements.
